It isn't easy to say the exact moment that this idea of buying a property from which I could live and work was born, but many factors led to the light bulb moment. As I sit here I think “Well where should I begin?” as it seems that the universe has been unfolding this for so many years now.
Without a doubt, finding Reiki and then training and years of experiences to become a Usui Reiki Master has to be a pivotal aspect. Once we take these active steps to manage ourself and begin to fulfill our spiritual potential we begin to focus on what we want or don't want within our lives. With hindsight I now realise that my initial focus was what I wanted taken out of my life, and I began to achieve that by walking away from my career in Adult Education management.
As time went by I began to look at what I wanted to add into my life. It was evident that I needed to look at ways of earning a living within the confines of what my health would allow. The decision to begin creating gemstone jewellery was a result of chance and synchronicity, and whilst I have yet to make any kind of living from it, from an initial investment of £100 I have created a beautiful range, by a constant reinvestment from sales.
Attending Fairs is a great experience and successful but really are too hard for me physically. It takes a week to make sure everything is cleaned, priced and packed and of course you have all the display items to pack. Did I mention the week to recover ? The website has not been as successful as anticipated but given the plethora of sites selling I am thankful for the friendsz who have found me and loved my creations. The thing is though, choosing a piece is more than what it looks like on an image- the true beauty of each piece can only be appreciated when you see it and touch it for real.
Practicing and teaching Reiki from your own personal space is also not ideal. People are always welcomed into my home and enjoy their experiences but to have the totally separate spaces to live and work would be bliss.
So my mind started thinking about finding somewhere where I could easily combine home and work and I began to research properties here in Barnsley where I currently live. This proved to be fruitless as most properties are Leasehold and the rents are a joke.
I then recalled a conversation I had the previous summer with Amanda when we had been talking about how much we both loved Bridlington. She told me how the property prices there were really reasonable and at the time I had a quick look on the web and thought no more about it.
In December 2007 I went to look at the first property and here we are in July 2008 finally taking the bit between the teeth and actually going for it. The picture on the left shows my current home, a lovely Edwaridan semi where I have lived for 19 years. (3 bedrooms, 3 gardens and open to offers ) The house has been valued by one Estate Agent and by the end of next week I am hoping the house is ready to accept viewers. It’s a matter of de cluttering really and making the house look more spacious and ermm tidy . I will keep you posted on developments
Meanwhile have a look at this
Namaste
