Suitable Premises Found

Well, I  have now found the premises which will be perfect for Reiki Gallery in Bridlington. I had initially dismissed this property - don't ask me  why. Perhaps it was lurking in the background ready to grab my attention. On my initial visit I had in my mind a list of work I imagined it would need, such as rewiring, new boilers, re-plastering etc. To say I was surprised is an understatement because it needs none of these. However, it does need a new roof lounge.  Technically, it could be patched up but experience of what this roof has cost me over the last 19 years leads me to think a brand new roof would be the better choice.

This week, Mark my son who is a builder came along with me to check it out with  his expereinced eye.  He had pre- warned me that it would cost me Fish and Chips on the harbour. It was lovely spending time with him .  We see each other a few times a week but it is always a hurried pop in. The Estate Agent is a great guy and he was happy for us to spend as much time as we needed and not once did he show any sign of wanting us to hurry - so many I met before have done. We were sitting in a cafe having our Fish and Chips and he turned to me and said "Mam I can't wait to get home and see my mates". When I asked why he replied "Well I have to tell them me Mam took me to the seaside and bought me Fish and Chips". More what a 9 yeard old would say , rather than a 6 foot 33 year old!

I'm now busy fine tuning the Business Plan  and Financial Forecast and of course waiting for this house to sell . I had a go at taking a photo for the brochures - I know the estate Agent does them but wanted to see how it would look. This is a shot of the lounge

It will look better with the Laptop out of the way and the TV turned off don't you think?

That's all I have for now but if you want to hear more of my ramblings head over to my Kiamyka  blog which covers a wider range of rambles

Properties and Logos

Yesterday I went to see another property in Bridlington. It seems each one has potential and positive features but also has its own drawbacks and limitations. The key is going to be to find the happy medium - pun intended

This one has the whole of the ground floor as the commercial part, with 3 bedroomed accommodation above. It has a tiny back yard which means the dogs can be let out safely but parking will need to be sorted. I am quietly confident that there will be someone close by who will be happy to rent out their drive. My main concern with this one is the roof. I know from experience here that you can patch up a roof every year and with hindsight it would have been cheaper to have a new roof than continue to pay out for constant patches. We are going back for another look on Wednedsday and my son Mark is coming along to verify the extent of what would need doiing and estimate costs.

I have been playing around with ideas for a logo and the picture above is an initial idea. It is from a photograph I took in April  when I was staying with Frankie in Jersey. I love the contrast of the orange with the blue and they are colours I will combine in the Gallery deco. And blubells have a special significance for me.

I don't know if you have noticed yet, but at the bottom of each page on this site there is a Daily Quote - this changes each time you refresh or visit a new page. This is the one which was showing for me just now.

The greatest gift in life is the ability to think great thoughts and to have the strength to take action so those thoughts become reality in this wonderful and abundant world. Those who achieve this are those who take action - Jack Black

 How cool is that
